Along the Canal

This project is going to take you on a journey along the Regent’s Canal. Opened in 1820, it was built to link the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal to the Limehouse Basin and the River Thames, fostering trade and industrial growth in the region. As the canals are no longer needed for cargo transportation in our contemporary life, the once bustling Regent’s Canal has transformed into a place of leisure for modern people. However, along the canal, traces of the industrial era remain, some visible while others have gradually faded away with time. This journey will not only guide you through the length where the canal stretches but will also lead you through time, seeking the vanished and the lingering, the unique memories belonging to the Regent’s Canal in Camden Town.
