Urinary Leash

A2 poster copies of an aquatint print, a traditional printing method using a zinc plate. Other methods used include lino printing and graphic collage. Inspired by See Red Women’s Workshop.

Bella is exploring the campaign and dispute that broke out in 1900 over the proposal to construct a women’s public lavatory in Camden Town. In her project, she has been making protest posters using traditional printing methods such as etching and collage, to explore the rights that women should have over their own bodies.

As she has delved deeper into her project, she has discovered the revolutionary impact that local community action groups based in Camden have had over time and how these groups brought about change for not just women, but for other marginalised groups in Camden.
